Well, it has finally arrived guys! As I was mentioning in one of my previous blog posts, after testing out the awesome drone that goes by the name Aton, I just could not resist but to buy one for myself. I found drones interesting ever since they made it onto the big stage. The whole “unmanned RC flying thingy” concept was something that I just loved… but up until now, I was not able to afford one. Luckily, with my new job and all the progress I’ve been making in the last couple of months… it all resulted with a bit more cash flow coming into my pockets. Even though working as a journalist isn’t that prestigious (and well-paid) job, it is making my life a lot easier since I don’t have to rely on my parent’s money… and trust me, for a 23-year-old, that’s a huge plus!
Cutting to the chase, I just unboxed this little devil and I gotta say that I am even more hyped up about it than when I bought it. It is currently being charged (it shouldn’t take long so I will probably keep this blog post pretty short… I hope you understand why haha) which is why I am writing this blog post in the first place. Now let’s talk a bit about this awesome under $500 drone. Yup, it costs less than $500 and just look at how awesome it is. But, it’s not the looks that matter, it’s what’s under the hood that’s most important… and this guy has a ton of power down there. I believe it can fly as fast as 50 miles per hour, although I really doubt I’ll go anywhere near that speed in the first couple of weeks. Or ever. Unfortunately, it does not come with a camera. I guess I overlooked that. But, I’ll probably buy a gimbal and mount my GoPro on it. It’s gonna be great!
Anyways, I believe that it’s been more than 2 hours since I put my new baby to charge. With that in mind, I’m going to cut this blog post short here since I am really eager to get that thing up and running. Goodbye peeps, hope you have a great day!
